Re: 1960 Gibson Korina Explorer " Kandye Kane " Guitars West Owned on ebay
And it is very clear to me that replicas are fakes.
When offering them, explaining that is necessary to be honest.
But, it is still a fake, a forgery, a replica.
Word games.
And look at the 4 posters in a row. What a surprise. :rolleyes
I think it's how you represent them.
I have a replica, it's a fantastic guitar. I made sure I posted on the net about it, including pics and serial number, and always refer to it as a replica. That way, no one in the future can misrepresent the guitar.
Now, if I had been shrewd/dishonest (take your pick), I could have kept quiet, beavered away, sourced all the necessary original parts and represented it as an original. Then, in my opinion, it becomes a fake.
And if I was marketing a fake, I would have to keep firm and not waiver from my story for even one instant, otherwise the veil would drop and I would be revealed as a fraud.
I really like good replicas, I really dislike fakes. It is that clear to me.
