Already posted this on the other forum. For those of you that don't venture there this is my newest acquisition. Gloss finish, 8lbs. 7ozs., purchased from GC and my first 2013. Only a couple of hours of playing so far. Neck feels good (a lot like my 2010 Burst Bros. R9s). Plays nice with some minor tweaking. Initial impression is that it's a little on the brighter side overall compared to my other Historics. Likes to solo on the neck pickup. Less red, more tea than the photos indicate...

Very very cool top... and yes these 2013's have a great neck pickup, very articulate and clear sounding.

Ruff, my memory may be a little foggy, but this one kind of reminds me a little of your R5, without the off-center seam of course.

Both really beautiful and great photography as always!

Ahhhh, yep. Jeez I love your R5! It may or may not be the same one that I was lusting over at Wildwood, but procrastinated about a day too long in pulling the trigger.

I'm not sure what constitutes a "vintage" top, but IMHO those two of yours have it in spades!

Say Ruff, I was just wondering if you used any fill flash on those great photos or if it was all available light? You said the guitar looks less red and more tea in person, and I have a Sunrise Tea Burst CR8 that is exactly the same way when I try to shoot a pic. It always comes out way too red and too dark (see below).




Any photography tips now that I have another one of your guitars to lust after? Yours always come out great!

Thanks BM, no fill flash was used, available light only. I always check the white balance before I shoot. Red enhancement just seems to be a characteristic of digital photography. I use the editing software that came with my Nikon but it is very basic and doesn't allow for tint correction so my shots are rarely spot on color wise. As far as the too dark part, most cameras allow for over or underexposure so you can preset them to +1 or +2 etc. of overexposure to lighten your photo. Also, when shooting outdoors, especially in direct sunlight, bright reflections from the subject (the guitar in this case) can cause underexposed (darker) photos. Just a novice myself but I hope this helps...
