Very interesting question, indeed. I think I'll be able to tell after this weekend.
I actually hope that it didn't change the tone too much, since I loved the tone before I sent it in. This makeover was really all about the looks *How superficial is that?!* and the feel.

Yes; Louder and a bit brighter. I can't say it's MORE Resonant because after six months its difficult to tell (remember) but it is very resonant now thats for sure. The neck profile is the biggest difference. Its a faster neck and the Brazilian gives it an "oiled" appeal, however its not oily....if that makes any sense. Probably not...

Just a short note after an intense weekend ...

I just had a guitargasm yesterday ... this thing feels soooo damn good. It's amazing, what a little bit less shoulder and a non-sticky neck can do. She feels wonderful.

Tone-wise I can't really tell any difference, but I also did not expect any since I opted for the Standard package (no neck-reset, new fretboard, etc.).

And her looks ... so beautiful. I'd say that this makeover was well worth its price!

Alberta is the name of a 1960 Burst (on on the left, # 0 0285). Naomi is the name of the R8 ... and she's a 2002 (on the right, before the HM, next to Alberta).

Took a picture today at unfavorable light conditions with my vintage cell phone and it turned out to look like one of those pictures Tom posts every week in the Vintage section :2cool

I am still liking this guitar A LOT! Changed the pickguard, though. I like it to be a bit unmatched to the other plastics.

Great! Gil is an awesome guy, I could have listened to Kim and Gil for hours talking about aging lacquer.
