• Guys, we've spent considerable money converting the Les Paul Forum to this new XenForo platform, and we have ongoing monthly operating expenses. THE "DONATIONS" TAB IS NOW WORKING, AND WE WOULD APPRECIATE ANY DONATIONS YOU CAN MAKE TO KEEP THE LES PAUL FORUM GOING! Thank you!

Ouch. Say it ain't so, Joe.

This is Joe's reply from his forum:-

"Honestly.... I didn't know these guitars even existed..... I am gonna inquire about them today... I am as surprised as you are and frankly not thrilled....
I will keep you posted..
Joe B"

Wildwood received another batch, with some in the low to mid 8 lb. to low 9 lb. range. :hank

If they use lighter mahogany, they will get raided by the Feds again and accused of violating some other country's laws for illegally exporting lightweight tonewoods. :rofl

Time to make them heavy again like those 70's and 80's Les Pauls we have come to know and love. :)

Another good example of WTF from the Custom Shop:

http://www.wildwoodguitars.com/products/jbg004.php?CategoryID=10&n=1

A $4,299 weight-relieved Goldtop that's still almost 10lbs?! No comprende.

Wouldn't "another WTF from Wildwood" be more correctly? The guitars are Wildwood exclusives, as I understand it.

Disturbing is the fact, that JB himself didn't know anything about those guitars. I'm anxious to learn more about this.

Somewhere I read, these guitars would devalue the original signature series, but I don't think so. They are highgloss and they are ugly.

Yeah, I saw that they were exclusive to WW. I'm not sure how much water that holds, since I see things touted as exclusive to stores all the time which eventually end up at other stores, albeit with some slight variation. Regardless, I'm surprised WW would pony up for these, which are basically USA Standard specs but made in the Custom Shop. I remember the 'original' JB run sitting on the shelves for a while as well, so it seems like an odd choice all the way around.

How are we sure that they're 'made' in the Custom Shop? I'd bet they're made on the USA line.
