• Guys, we've spent considerable money converting the Les Paul Forum to this new XenForo platform, and we have ongoing monthly operating expenses. THE "DONATIONS" TAB IS NOW WORKING, AND WE WOULD APPRECIATE ANY DONATIONS YOU CAN MAKE TO KEEP THE LES PAUL FORUM GOING! Thank you!

Rather than mire this thread in useless controversy, I prefer to continue the celebration.

And I do celebrate this guitarist, profoundly.

Here's Greeny roaring in 1970

Not heard that version before, very moving, thank you. I'm working from home today, ground a halt when I listened to that.

When did he say it was against his wishes? All I heard was the interview with Mick saying Peter may or may not turn up depending how he felt.

I don't know if he said it or not. Just saying, it would be weirder.

And if the concert was truly against his wishes, that's even more weird than if he just didn't want to be there.

Kirk didn’t say it was against his wishes, just that due to his deteriorated mental health he's not in a place where he's interested in music and sitting in a crowd like that where he's the center of attention would potentially be too much. Kirk said he showed him Greeny and his response was "that's not my guitar".

That last photo made me chuckle: I imagined David Gilmour saying "Right, it's mine now!" - as Kirk H. (looking a bit nervous) reaches with one hand for the back of the guitar...:)

More photos from the show by Ross Halfin: https://www.rosshalfin.com/diary-main/2020/3/7/february-25-2020

There is going to be a documentary about the show to be released in the fall through BMG. As of now plans are to have a theatrical release in the UK along with a one-night-only movie theatre broadcast in the US. I'd speculate the latter would be through someone like Fathom Events but that's just a guess for now. A more complete edition on home video and streaming services and audio recording of the show to follow. Genesis Publications is also planning a coffee table style book of the show to be released in October: https://www.genesis-publications.com/news/mick-fleetwoods-tribute-concert-for-peter-green/2602

Billy G has always said he was influenced by Peter Green.

I would have liked to have seen him.

Play Green Manalishi with Greenies guitar.

While Kirk Hammet is a very awesome guitarist.

I thought he was too busy in his playing in the video as posted.

That guitar needs to breath!

That was him letting it breath. Normally it's 16th note downstrokes on the low E for 5 minutes at a time :dude:

(not a dig at Metallica, I'm an enormous fan of theirs and saw them (and greeny) last summer)
