• Guys, we've spent considerable money converting the Les Paul Forum to this new XenForo platform, and we have ongoing monthly operating expenses. THE "DONATIONS" TAB IS NOW WORKING, AND WE WOULD APPRECIATE ANY DONATIONS YOU CAN MAKE TO KEEP THE LES PAUL FORUM GOING! Thank you!

actual 1978 Peavey 4 x 12 w/BW :)
GK 400RB
Laney 50 watt tranny Linebacker(bass and metal jughead-ery). Traded a klon klone for it lol oo-rah!

Gig Rig as follows:

Bassman Ten sitting on the old Peavey to get it up to chest level. Volume about 4'ish 1st input Bass channel

Bassman into Traynor 2 x 15 with some big ass nondescript ceramics. Volume on 8. 2nd input normal channel.

Y'all are a bunch of mad scientist amp junkies that need to join Ampaholics Anonymous.

You won't find me on the third page of Enquirer..."Man Crushed to Death By 13 Tons of Guitar Amplifiers!"

'79 JMP Marshall 2204 with a straight cab 4x12 greenbacks.

A coupla' tweeds, and a Pignose 700 or two.

All else I need pretty much involves a big bag of money and hookers and blow.

My dear sweet wife on the other hand....

Enquirer..."Woman Crushed to Death By 27 Tons of Shoes, Handbags, and Accessories!"

‘64 blackface Bassman, the so-called “tuxedo” 6G6B circuit, white knobs, presence control. Run it thru a custom built 1X15” cab with a WGS Alnico 4 ohm speaker...sounds “phat”! :dude:

Nice collection Mike! Which one is your desert island amp?:)

Hard to pick a desert island amp. Five killer amps are the '59 Tweed Deluxe, '59 Tweed Bassman, '64 Blackface Fender Vibrolux Reverb, '64 Blackface Princeton Reverb, and '63 Brownface Vibroverb. :hank

Not much of a collection but hey, it's a dynamic duo, my 1964 and 1973 Super Reverbs. Just got the Blackface and it's sweet!

1956 Fender Deluxe
1981 Marshall 50 watt 2104 2x12 combo (combo version of the 2204 head)
Rockitt Retro 50 watt 1987 replica
Tone King Imperial 20th Anniversary
Fargen Mini-Plex MkII
Fender Tweed Twin Reissue
Fender Blues Deluxe

I also have an Aracom attenuator that I use on the 2104 and 1987 and a Swart Night Lite attenuator that I use on the Fender Deluxe.

I am pretty satisfied with my amp collection at this point. There isn't really anything else I want, except maybe a 2x12 cab to play the 1987 through. I am currently playing it through the 2104 cab/speakers.

1962 Fender Super (Brown/ wheat grill cloth), 1972 Fender Silverface Twin (my very first amp as a kid which I still have ), 1998 Fender Prosonic (Red Tolex , nice 2 channel amp) 2011 Fender Supersonic (Blonde/Brown Cloth ) and lastly my piece de resistence and my all time favorite My Marshall 2555X into my 2551 AV cab loaded with my favorite speaker Celestion Vintage 30's . Ever since I got the Marshall rig on 7/9/2015 I have not played thru any other amp, nor do I want to . I do not need distortion/overdrive pedals because every tone I need from cleans to peel the paint off the ceiling and blow the roof off the house is right there on the front of the amp .As one associate said to me "Box of Knobs" (all 7 of them on the front ) Nothing to my ears sounds better than a Gibson Les Paul thru a Marshall 2555X and yes I am very biased .
