Hiwatt?

Any opinions on a Custom Hiwatt 50? Do the late 70's models have a master volume? I've read that they're loud but maybe they can be tamed down a little with a master volume and an attenuator to save on the ear drums.

I play a Harry Joyce rig. Harry hand wired the original Hiwatts, and has made several updates to the original design. an original Joyce era Hiwatt is still a beautiful thing, but if you have the $$$, go for the Harry Joyce Custom 50. Harry offers heads and combos, and has just introduced the production model of his new speakers...2" voice coils with 63 oz. magnets, cast frames.

Now, if you'll excuse me...I have to go change my underpants .
