Hello guys
i recently got this Gibson Prehistoric R9.
But something tells me, that it is a little bit more complicated than this.
The "regular" prehistorics had serials beginning with 3,4,5 and so on, which stands for the year, e.g. 83, 84, 85.
Mine is 9-1001, and is inked, not stamped. I got this article from the vintage price guide, 9-1001 would be the very first "guitar trader" reissue??? But mine does not have the serial in the control cavity!
The guitar has had a headstock repair in the 80ies, harness and tuners are from a 53-54 Goldtop and the Pickups are 64/65 Pat Numbers. Maybe some one slaughtered it for the real pafs and harness??
Thanks for reading and all the best from switzerland
