• Guys, we've spent considerable money converting the Les Paul Forum to this new XenForo platform, and we have ongoing monthly operating expenses. THE "DONATIONS" TAB IS NOW WORKING, AND WE WOULD APPRECIATE ANY DONATIONS YOU CAN MAKE TO KEEP THE LES PAUL FORUM GOING! Thank you!

Older than dirt but I got this Lester...

I still have a 1974 Standard I bought in '76 and I've owned any number of R9s when I lived in Tokyo. Those are all gone. So at 75, I found this one and purchased it. 2019 60th. What do you think?

Smart move! I just turned 75 as well. I already had an '06 R9, but one, a '19 R8 on Reverb, said "Hey sailor, wanna date?" Best out of the shipping box Les I've ever had, just needs love! (At this age it isn't a good time to be patient...keep saying that to yourself! :hee )

That is a sweet looking guitar. Now you just need to spend another $20 on a switch tip. :)

You know you're getting old when your presidents start looking young. 😉😉😉
You're younger than my Dad and he's still rockin' a red Strat.
The R9's a beauty, by the way. I got one back in June. If it's half as good as mine, you'll be blown away. 5 grand (GBP) is a significant spend on a guitar for me:worth every penny.

Absolutely classic looking.
Enjoy it!
I'm 72, and recently unloaded a lot of my guitars keeping only one of my LP's. I played in bands since I was 10 yrs old and after having covid recently, had to leave my band.

I had recently bought a 60th Anny LP in faded lemon and kept it. It's my only LP and probably, my last.

Enjoy your beautiful example of a LP.

I posted a picture of the guitar now that it’s home. It’s a great great guitar.
