I just got a new 2020 LP jr in, and the headstock looks unusually large and a little “off” for lack of a better term

my 3 previous Gibson’s were a ‘54 ES-125, ‘94 ES-165, and a ‘96 LP Standard
(All are sold now so I cannot compare)

is it my imagination or is the new Jr using the larger headstock shape?
does the VOS custom Jr have the same size headstock?

Does anyone have a ‘18-20 jr that they could measure Or compare to a VOS or vintage?

Many thanks

Gibson have used quite a few differing headstock sizes over the years. The obvious one being that Customs were always bigger than standards/goldtops.
The large 70's one is only used for reissues of that era guitar, but the 80's and 90's prodction guitars even on the return to the smaller size was not like the 50's either. And in fact there may well be a few shapes in the current production line too.
Could well be one of the 'upsell' features for the RI....getting the vintage accurate headstock.
