• Guys, we've spent considerable money converting the Les Paul Forum to this new XenForo platform, and we have ongoing monthly operating expenses. THE "DONATIONS" TAB IS NOW WORKING, AND WE WOULD APPRECIATE ANY DONATIONS YOU CAN MAKE TO KEEP THE LES PAUL FORUM GOING! Thank you!

RIP Eddie Van Halen, 65

I was in High School when the first album came out. Everybody I knew was into Van Halen, and so was I. I tried doing all the tapping and stuff just like everybody else during that era, but realized that maybe I should take a different path. I loved his rhythm guitar playing, he really doesn't get enough credit for that. RIP Eddie

My experience as well. I loved those first two records, but I didn't even know where to start to play like that.
I think his rhythm playing is amongst the best.
