'77 LPC Question about pot numbers

Hello to the forum... this is my first post.

I have a '77 LPC with what I assume are the original pots (or at least they are from the same year). As I understand it, the number 1377718 indicates they were made by CTS in 1977.

Is the other number (70-034) the part number? Does that tell me if it's 300K or 500K?

Welcome to the forum!

Yes, the CTS (137) pot code indicates the 18th week of 1977.

Sorry, no idea what the other numbers are. Maybe you could use a multimeter to find out the values of your pots?

70-034 is the part number and indicates 300K linear taper pots.

Thank you! I was hoping to avoid messing around inside of this one for a little while longer. I've been playing since the 70's and I've had this LP for probably 15 years or so but I am fairly new to using a soldering iron. I'm still a bit sloppy. I'm going to continue practicing on my other (lesser loved) guitars for now.

Thank you, I appreciate the info! Is it typical that all four pots would be the same? For some reason I thought that tone pots were typically different from volume pots (as far as the ohm rating)?

As far as I know 300K for volume and tone pots was pretty much standard on Norlin era guitars, my 1976 Deluxe has all 300K's.

Ok, cool... good to know. I'm going to assume these are the original pots then.
