• Guys, we've spent considerable money converting the Les Paul Forum to this new XenForo platform, and we have ongoing monthly operating expenses. THE "DONATIONS" TAB IS NOW WORKING, AND WE WOULD APPRECIATE ANY DONATIONS YOU CAN MAKE TO KEEP THE LES PAUL FORUM GOING! Thank you!

First post, first Gibson after having purchased ~12 electrics through other brands!

Posted are unedited pictures, I've removed the pickguard (sorry). It also came with the Gibson Custom shop medallion but re-installed the plastic one. Weight is ~4.1kg / 9lbs but need to check again with a more accurate scale.

I bought this one after testing ~8-10 guitars in store, ranging from 2016-2020 models, from Tom Murphy Aged -> 1959/1960 -> Rick Nielsen/other replica. Each one was fantastic, this one just hit the spot in a special way :spabout

Fretwork is great, mahogany back is perfect, (Indian?) rosewood fingerboard is dark and the burst/flame is just right. Very happy, I think this is the beginning of a rabbit hole ~

Really enjoyed testing both the 1959 and 1969(v1-3) neck profiles, however decided to stick to the slightly thicker 1959 as the 1960 profiles are more similar to my previous guitars.

I've seen a lot of Cherry burst on the forum fade to a Lemon drop over time, would the same thing happen with a Dirty Lemon if left too close to direct sunlight?

Great to finally join the Les Paul Train :peace2

Welcome to the party . Seriously beautiful Les Paul as I love the color and figure . Yes she will fade some if you leave her in direct sunlight and that is at your discretion of course . I bet she sounds really nice ? Play her in good health and have tons of fun as that is what it's all about !

Very happy with the tone, cannot stop playing it ~

Due to my excitement doing my NGD first post I wrote 'Paul Murphy' instead of 'Tom Murphy' :wah

I love the look of that fingerboard! I bet it feels so good!

And I enjoyed reading your first post--playing many and choosing this one that spoke to you in a "special way".

Enjoy you new guitar (and The Les Paul Forum)!

I looked up the serial number but it turns out the Japanese dealership may have their own series ~

Thank you, awesome to join the club, hope I can contribute.

As it's a 2018, I think the pickups are potted. The only change I've been considering is to get some ThroBak pickups installed ~ any thoughts/recommendations?

I love the back color a lot. Not that the front looks bad. It's great, but the back color and wood grain looks delicious!

Just figured how to multiquote ~

Gorgeous guitar! That is pretty much my ideal looking LP right there. Enjoy her! :salude

Just paired it with my favorite guitar straps and now getting almost daily play!

Good guitar back and neck wood is sometimes less noticed, I have to admit it was part of the purchasing decision process and overruled my thoughts on weight (~9lbs rather than ~8)
