• Guys, we've spent considerable money converting the Les Paul Forum to this new XenForo platform, and we have ongoing monthly operating expenses. THE "DONATIONS" TAB IS NOW WORKING, AND WE WOULD APPRECIATE ANY DONATIONS YOU CAN MAKE TO KEEP THE LES PAUL FORUM GOING! Thank you!

I can only speak for myself.....owners who undertake a neck-reset, & tune-o-matic/stop-tail conversion on their '52 & '53 trap-tail Les Pauls, often come away with a much improved guitar that offers great playability and tone for a fraction of the cost of a vintage '56/'57 Gold Top. :2cool

It gets even better when the subject Les Paul is a busted neck, road-dog '52 Goldtop which is salvaged and given a new lease on life! :dude:

Man, gorgeous gold top! :yah

Did you go vintage on any of the other '57 parts too? (or if not, what reproductions did you install? )
- I guess you'd need a bridge and tail piece, paf cut pickguard, paf mounting rings, "top hat" knobs, and a switch "poker chip" ring. (Did I miss anything? :))

Poker chip, abr1 and rings are the only parts that are repro. I bought an original 57 wiring Harness off reverb with original top hats. The tailpiece is from my 57 jr
