Yes, the headstock face glows strongly but the rest of the body, neck and headstock doesn't glow at all. That tells me the refinish was everything but the headstock face but I'm not sure what else...

Does the small amount of exposed gold paint glow?

Great question. Too hard to tell right now but I've got some replacement saddles on the way (these are notched quite deep and muffling the tone of the high strings) so will take the pickups out and expose more of the gold in the cavity to check.
