Consider you love how your 60th anniversary 59 LP is set up and plays but the 45100 fretwire is going away very fast. What would be a good compromise in keeping the feel of the 45100 but also adding a bit more meat to it? thanks

I LOVE Jescar FW51100. Not sure if you're looking to move away from Jescar though.

Being familiar with the mentioned fretwire, I'd really like to draw your attention to two alternative wire options worthy of serious consideration by Stew Mac.

#0154 : width 100" crown hight 050"

#0149: width 103" crown hight 046"

The Jescar wire is top notch but the 45100 with its squared profile can hinder smooth movement, whereas the
Stew Mac #0154 constituted a far more fluid playing experience, equal in width with more fret hight to play with..

#0149 looks very close to some of the wire used in the late '60's on refretted Goldtops and Bursts I've seen, it's tricky to tell for sure..

I've been using these two guages for some 20 years, and had to let you know how well they have worked for the musicians that chose them for their build.

The Jescar 51100 is .100" wide by .051" high. Seems quite similar in dimension to the 0154 StewMac.

I have the FW47104 stainless steel frets on my '54 Goldtop reissue from 1971 which I purchased new. Again, similar size to the 0149 as mentioned and it is the most popular medium-jumbo wire used by many of the manufacturers. Very comfortable size, but I lean more to the 51100 for that slight bit of extra height without getting into tall wire.

That sounds really cool. Thanks!
