Orange label in a 1970 335?

I’ve been discussing details of a guitar which is owned by an old friend.

It’s a cherry 335, stoptail converted. It has a three piece neck, volute (not a small volute), and Made in USA stamp. Everything about it tells me it should have a purple diamond label but it doesn’t, it has an oval orange label the same as my ‘69 335.

Has anyone else ever seen an orange label on a 1970?

Cheers,
Rob

Yup, mine has one as well. I don't think that's uncommon for early 1970, I've seen a few in the past.

Yes, even the very late 70 and some early 71s still have the orange label.
