Hi
I'm kind of thinking of refinishing my old cheap les paul made by korean company.
What I have in mind is,
1. sand the top
2. put gesso as a primer and a sealer
3. apply custom paint using acrylic paints(this will be done by my mother as she is an artist)
just like this link here https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=35_fb4747aY
4. finally clear coat the top
The big problem is that while I want to use lacquer as a clear finish because I know that poly would hinder my high frequencies
but I'm not sure if clear lacquer over acrylic paint would make any problems.
I googled it and some say to never coat lacquer over acrylic paints, while others say it is fine.
I will apply it to the piece of wood before actually trying it, but I want to know if anyone has similar experiences.
