Doesn't sound like a Gretsch - but it's definitely got it;s own thing going on.

was it a green overspray or did you take the finish down?
What pickups are those?

Gretsch Dynasonics with a TV Jones tone pot harness.

As for the color it looks more like the first picture that was just a crappy low light pic, here's a better pic...
