• Guys, we've spent considerable money converting the Les Paul Forum to this new XenForo platform, and we have ongoing monthly operating expenses. THE "DONATIONS" TAB IS NOW WORKING, AND WE WOULD APPRECIATE ANY DONATIONS YOU CAN MAKE TO KEEP THE LES PAUL FORUM GOING! Thank you!

so my old lady inherited a les paul from her uncle. i'm not convinced it's a custom like he said. hoping for some help ID'ing the axe. now just a fair warning he has butchered this guitar beyond belief with a router back in the 80's and i'm completely aware of what a shame it is. someday i'd like to spend some serious cash on getting it done up by a professional. pictures attached!

Hello and welcome to the forum!

Your guitar is definitely a legit Custom. I have serial numbers in my ledger for several Customs with the 700595XX number, including this one which is only two numbers away.

A little TLC and you will have a great guitar!!

I would agree and say that this looks to be a real custom. A friend of mine owns a 1978 custom and it is right in line with this one... minus the modifications of course.
