• Guys, we've spent considerable money converting the Les Paul Forum to this new XenForo platform, and we have ongoing monthly operating expenses. THE "DONATIONS" TAB IS NOW WORKING, AND WE WOULD APPRECIATE ANY DONATIONS YOU CAN MAKE TO KEEP THE LES PAUL FORUM GOING! Thank you!

Did not realize the difference was so dramatic until recently.
Here is a modern CTS and tracks from vintage Centralabs.

That's why they last so freaking long. And forget about a modern re-creation. Even if you eliminated the lead from the track, which no modern company will touch, they still would be unable to manufacture a track in this fashion (which if I'm not mistaken involved a baking process), as now their tooling is all geared to silk-screening the tracks. And I don't care how many times you over screen to get a more heavy-duty track, it will NEVER have the longevity of the old Centralabs.
