• Guys, we've spent considerable money converting the Les Paul Forum to this new XenForo platform, and we have ongoing monthly operating expenses. THE "DONATIONS" TAB IS NOW WORKING, AND WE WOULD APPRECIATE ANY DONATIONS YOU CAN MAKE TO KEEP THE LES PAUL FORUM GOING! Thank you!

"No serviceable parts......" Marshall amp fun

Hi folks: I hadn't used my old Marshall 6100LE for several years and had some very unhappy pots to contend with this morning. The manual states "no serviceable parts take the amp to a specialist for repair". About an hour later all was well; I pulled the amp out of the box, squirted switch cleaner/lube into every pot from the backside and turned each pot many times. It's a shame that this thing is hidden in a box; the 6100LE was a limited run of 800 amps made in 1992 to celebrate Marshall's 30th anniversary. Some pics:

They say “No user serviceable parts”, I say “Hold my beer and watch this”! At least Marshall’s lawyers can say “We told you not to go poking around back there”. Good looking setup by the way.
