• Guys, we've spent considerable money converting the Les Paul Forum to this new XenForo platform, and we have ongoing monthly operating expenses. THE "DONATIONS" TAB IS NOW WORKING, AND WE WOULD APPRECIATE ANY DONATIONS YOU CAN MAKE TO KEEP THE LES PAUL FORUM GOING! Thank you!

Just got an email that the show is returning to Arlington long term starting October 31 - November 1. This is in addition to the already mentioned show in June. Check towards the bottom of the page. https://www.amigoguitarshows.com

So what happens/happened to Fort Worth? :hmm From the email (start date listed below appears to be incorrect):

The Amigos are proud to announce the return to Arlington Convention Center for the biggest and best show of the year, the AMIGO ARLINGTON Guitar Show DFW (Formerly Guitarlington). Mark your calendars for October 29 - November 1, 2020. We were able to secure this legendary venue for all future fall shows. We will be using the large room, but not the carpeted room, which is being used for ESports events. It is our plan to make maximum usage of the reduced space to accommodate a large percentage of the booths from both rooms. Creative floor planning should allow us to place most of the vendors from the 2017 Guitarlington show. We have also booked the newly-remodeled Sheraton Arlington Hotel, which will be even better this year.
At the time of this email, the Amigo Arlington Reunion Guitar Show is still scheduled for June 18-21, more than 4 months out from the AMIGO ARLINGTON Guitar Show DFW. We hope to see you at both shows and we’re working hard to ensure two successful events. Thanks to all you folks who make our shows possible.

Good to hear. Maybe I'll feel like taking a plane and staying in a hotel room by then.

That is good news.
We'll see if international travel is happening by the time the show swings around in October.

Just got this from the show's promoters:

To our valued guitar show vendors:

It is no secret that the Covid 19 pandemic has played havoc with life as we know it in America. The Amigos have carefully monitored the daily worldwide health updates from a number of sources, and consequently canceled four of our shows that were scheduled for 2020. They included Nashville, Chicago, the June Arlington Reunion show and the August Orange County show in California. The triumphant and permanent return of Guitarlington (the "big one") to the Arlington Convention Center, is scheduled for Halloween weekend, ending Sunday, November 1, and is still very much in the works. Since we are a full four months out, a lot can improve by show time. As you know, Guitarlington is designed with dealer comforts front and center, featuring reasonable hours of operation, and the limiting of any outside events that might take away from the focus on buying and selling of guitars and amps. The Amigos will always provide you with the very best possible show on any given date, as our focus is on keeping our very important and loyal vendors happy and successful. Guitarlington is hands down the most convenient show in the country, with the most creature comforts. Once again, our main focus is on the health and well being of all those who choose to attend.

Several promoters have had to react quickly to reschedule their shows, and consequently have inadvertently caused a close proximity in event dates. We hate that some travelers may have to choose between the two big DFW shows. We can only do an honest sales pitch for Guitarlington, which in essence says that show time is four months away, allowing maximum recovery time for the virus to flatten or go away. It is also possible that the European travel bans will be rescinded by then, making it possible for some of our best buyers to attend. We promise you a pure guitar show, where you can once again add some revenue to your recently-affected bottom line. It is our hope that everyone will mark your calendars for October 29-November 1 (Halloween weekend). We have booked once again, for your pleasure and comfort, the newly-remodeled Sheraton Arlington hotel, one of the finest in the country..... right there across the parking lot. (NOTE: Link to hotel is NOT active as of the time that I am posting this. Keep checking site for an update) If you liked Guitarlington 2017, we are configuring the original hall to accommodate everyone that was at that last great Guitarlington event. Order as many booths as you like, but huge blocks of space may have to be reduced closer to the show to accommodate the largest number of vendors. Don't be afraid to book your booths now, as we will have a very liberal refund policy in place, if the show should have to be canceled.

Submit your participation form today at https://www.amigoguitarshows.com/arlingtonoct/

In the event that Guitarlington as we know it has to be changed up, we are considering other options for a different kind of show:

Plan B: This option would be a packed house invitation-only show for the exact same dates, except the event would be shortened to just three days. VIP buyers and vendors would have the long weekend to do business among themselves, and the public would not be present. Guitarlington has historically hosted more VIP buyers than any show in the nation. Since a large percentage of sales are typically from vendor to vendor, or vendor to VIP, we feel we could offer a great show with great revenue possibilities to everyone.

Given that:

1. The virus is highly contagious and is still with us;
2. There are very limited therapies to help those who contract it, and
3. There will not be a vaccine until 2021 (hopefully)

I just don't see the plausibility of mass gatherings where people cannot effectively social distance taking place this year.

Reality must set in - our world has changed for 2020.

Wait to see the outcome with resumption of college and professional sports, resumption of school in the fall, etc.

Sorry to be the bearer of sad tidings. :dang

Just call it a guitar protest, establish an ‘autonomous zone’ and all will be forgiven.

The President has made a very good case for the virus disappearing by itself, like a miracle. So. I’ll see you guys in Texas. Governor Abbott has also made me feel good about coming to the great state of texas.
Woo. I was really scared for a little while there. It’s going to be a blast! I am sure the miracle will be appearing soon in texas. The plague will disappear, texans will no longer have to wait for miles on food lines....the miracle is coming so we can all safely attend texas guitar shows soon. Yee ya! And don’t let those statistics or nasty numbers bother ya! We have a solution! We’ll just stop testing and we can bring those nasty numbers down!
