• Guys, we've spent considerable money converting the Les Paul Forum to this new XenForo platform, and we have ongoing monthly operating expenses. THE "DONATIONS" TAB IS NOW WORKING, AND WE WOULD APPRECIATE ANY DONATIONS YOU CAN MAKE TO KEEP THE LES PAUL FORUM GOING! Thank you!

Basically I'm trying to decode the 6 digit custom shop SN. to find out the year of manufacture.

I'm interested in the 00s versions which were Custom shop guitars and came with a historic cert. and 6 digit SN (not talking about the special run in 05-06 for Guitar Centers).

Features included:

6 digit custom shop serial number ending with '2' indicating the 1962 model
Solid one piece faded cherry body and one piece neck.
Kluson tuners
Nickel hardware
ABR-1 bridge
Alloy nickel tail piece
57 Classic pups
Smooth neck joint in the back
Hardshell Custom Shop case
Historic cert and hang tags.

Thanks if anyone has info and can help.

First two digits are build year. 00 can be 2000, 2010, or 2020. 05 can be 2005 or 2015. Etc.

Ok, that's what I needed to know, thanks. My first two numbers are 01, but the pots date to 2010, so I was expecting a 11 for the first two. Thanks again.
