The guy has been scoring a lot of cool stuff of late, then he posts videos shredding away on the guitars.
It might spark more discussion if there was a link to a place that shows his collection. :ganz
And he makes them all sound the same. How does he do that?
Wow! I thought this post would have sparked a lot of discussion. Hmmm?
I'm not a vintage guitar expert, but I'd be interested to hear some opinions from those here who are in regards to his collection and if he's been sold some fakes. I've seen a few guitars on his Instagram lately that even to my untrained eye looked pretty suspect.
What are you seeing?
Have you guys seen the guitars that Neal has been buying on Instagram? :wow Everyday he posts something amazing from vintage LPs to Strats to Teles to Jazz Boxes to Private Stock PRS. I asked Neal if he was buying everything he always wanted or if he was starting a museum or exhibit. He never really answered. I love Neal's playing and Journey IMHO is a powerhouse no matter what the critics say.
Anyone have any insight on what he is up to? Gotta be up to a couple million in geetars already...:salude
His tone is too processed on the clips for my taste..can’t really hear the guitar...they all sound relatively the same because of that. No doubt a great player...but tone on these too processed.
Love Neal. I think he's a mega player and an all around good guy with some serious chops and, lately, some killer acquisitions. A true player's player. He also commonly engages with his fans on social media, which I think is extremely cool.
One thing that slightly bugs me though, is when he posts those videos on Instagram of him sitting and playing beautiful guitar after beautiful guitar, his amp sound comes off as a tad bit static and it, in many cases, masks the actual tone of the guitar, IMO. Typically, it's a very saturated overdriven, bordering on heavy gain sound. Personally, when he's ripping on his Burst or his PRS' or Fenders, I'd love to hear the distinction between both guitars and their individual tonal characteristics. Just my $0.02!
Also, this is my first post here. Greetings from Toronto, folks!
He has to be the king or the champ and have the best collection of guitars !JB has single handedly made "Guitas Safaris" trendy!:salude:laugh2::salude
