• Guys, we've spent considerable money converting the Les Paul Forum to this new XenForo platform, and we have ongoing monthly operating expenses. THE "DONATIONS" TAB IS NOW WORKING, AND WE WOULD APPRECIATE ANY DONATIONS YOU CAN MAKE TO KEEP THE LES PAUL FORUM GOING! Thank you!

I bought one of these new back in the '80s. I enjoyed it with a Les Paul and didn't care for it with a Strat.

Thanks! Yes that is why I bought a Les Paul Studio to go with it when I found it at the store yesterday. Thought they made a nice pair.

Nice! Congrats. :dude:

I have a Lead 12 and a Lead 20. Modeling has kind of consumed me though and they are nice reference pieces to have, but no longer necessary. My Lead 12 sounds particularly killer with my Maestro Fuzz in front of it.

I got one of these back in 1990. It was used. Great amp for what it is. Mine has Checkerboard grill. I put an Alnico speaker in it!

Longtime lover of the Lead 12...( reason I have 3 of 'em)
I find that G 10 D completely useless though. I even tried putting 4 of those in a cabinet ....useless x 4
I put a G 10 S 50 in two Lead 12's and that ceramic Eminence 10 that used to come in the Pro Jr ,in the other one
A good speaker makes it a really useful combo

I like to use it for rehearsal at the house ,thru a full stack

I've played that tune a thousand times.

I still can't do it like you do.

God bless you and yours.

I readily second the Rx of having a G10S-50 in these, a whole new ballgame. Unfortunately, that d/ced Celestion is getting harder to find these days.

Everybody wanted the head/cab model and used Combo's could be had for $75 or less. A buddy traded a crappy Dod distortion pedal for a clean brown grill cloth one year's back. He still records with it, including the crappy stock speaker.

Fun amps with humbucker guitars!
