• Guys, we've spent considerable money converting the Les Paul Forum to this new XenForo platform, and we have ongoing monthly operating expenses. THE "DONATIONS" TAB IS NOW WORKING, AND WE WOULD APPRECIATE ANY DONATIONS YOU CAN MAKE TO KEEP THE LES PAUL FORUM GOING! Thank you!

Took this pic today after string change. Really nice neck. It was kinda
big before the makeover ...after sanding and all. It turned out great. Had to put in a
new dunc. DD (bridge)for the new lineup. The guitar gets played alot.

So you replaced the bridge Custombucker with a Seymour Duncan Distortion ? How do you like it ? I used to have the same pickup in my Les Paul Custom from 1980-1994.

yep, it had a set of 80`s Dunc, 59 NJ and 59 BJ. The neck is still in there.
I like the DD for what im doing now. Which is much more heavier sounding music.
Of course the DD lacks the clean edge. But it is OK.

I get it as it's a compromise as you get the heavier sound ,minus the cleans , which you can always switch to the neck for your cleans .

Nice photos by the way ! Which Les Paul is this ? Are these Seymour Duncan pickups ? I had the SD 59 in the neck and the SD Distortion in the bridge of my Les Paul Custom way back and they worked very well !

No wonder I liked it . That's a beautiful guitar and I remember the Heritage series from the early 80's as they are very beautiful Les Paul's !
