There were some changes to Bursts in 1960. First, the neck profile became slimmer, the knobs changed from amber bonnets to gold reflectors, and they changed the dye used for the cherry sunburst to try and prevent fading, which resulted in the "Tomato Soup" colour. Typically, you see R0s with all of these changes. None of these changes happened on January 1, 1960, so there were a lot of 1960 Bursts with the same features as 1959 Bursts or only some of the new changes. Gibson is trying to capture the gradual nature of these changes by producing three different versions of 60th anniversary R0s over the course of the year. Version 1 "V1" has the same features as an R9, same colours, neck profile, knobs, etc. Version 2 has some changes, a slimmer "transition neck profile" (between the standard R9 and R0 neck profiles), slightly different colours, and the reflector knobs. Version 3 is meant to be like a late 1960 Burst - slim R0 neck profile, reflector knobs, and tomato soup colour.
