I almost finished building my own mahogany Explorer, as close as possible to the Gibson '76 limited ed (not the reissue).
I was going to order Gotoh tune-o-matic (Nashville style) and gold zinc stop tailpiece, but then I noticed that the '76 explorer used an ABR-1 style TOM, so I started wondering what bridge and tailpiece would be best for this build.
I think I choosed Faber, since they looks great and the price is right too, and I love the lack of retaining wire (like Gotoh).
What do you think? also do you know what tailpiece did Gibson used on these Explorer back then? aluminium or other?
