If Gibson's current website photos for their Custom Shop '59, '61, and '64 ES-335 reissues are any indication, it would appear that the crown inlay that the Custom Shop is now using on the headstocks of these models is — finally! — the historically correct style of crown.
(For decades, Gibson Custom had instead been using the 1969-and-onward style of crown inlay on pretty much all of their ES-335 reissues' headstocks, regardless of the year being reissued.)
I gotta say, I'm genuinely shocked. This is a change I didn't think I'd ever see in my lifetime. Kudos, 2020-era Gibson! #OhHappyDay
