Hi, the royalite binding on my 3-month-old 60th anniversary custom LP 59 is turning pink at all the areas of pressure: neck and the bottom where it sits on my lap. Is this normal?
Thank you

same issue with my 60th R9. I've read the threads someplace that is is common and, BION, historically accurate!!!!

Yes, it's due to the aniline dye in the mahogany pore filler. Normal and historically accurate.

Here's an example of binding bleed on an original 1964 ES-335.

If the Historic Reissue guitars didn't bleed, I guarantee that some of us would be bitching that they don't.

Good to see it’s still happening. It has happened to every “R9” I’ve owned since ‘99. Latest is a 2015 CC #24 Nicky. Even the bridge PU ring on the bass side somehow has the bleed. Oh well - the guitar still KILLS!

Perfectly normal. If it bugs you like it did me .. have a good tech scrap it off. It looks better to my eye.
