• Guys, we've spent considerable money converting the Les Paul Forum to this new XenForo platform, and we have ongoing monthly operating expenses. THE "DONATIONS" TAB IS NOW WORKING, AND WE WOULD APPRECIATE ANY DONATIONS YOU CAN MAKE TO KEEP THE LES PAUL FORUM GOING! Thank you!

The '59 is the Geddy Lee burst that was supposedly sold at the last auction, but now would appear was not sold after all.

interesting. the mecum auction indicated the geddy lee burst was sold for 247k. in my mis informed opinion that doesnt seem to bad for a relatively plain top 59?
if it was 100 percent.. solder joints and all then maybe it was a solid deal? quite a few old guitars seem to have at least an issue or two.. solder. changed keys. small cracks etc. a burst 100 percent untouched must be worth a good sold price reguardles of the top? how many of the bursts on the burst serial number site have never been altered at all? (aside from crumbling keys being changed) ps.my keys all started to crumble in the early nineties.. around 92 actually!
