You know, I think you are right. What it looks like to me that the template for a wraptail
was used to mark hole placement. Maybe reversed or flipped? The guitar in question does have late 1963 pot date.

One would have to have been there to know for sure, but a reverse slant for the ABR-1 would put those inserts in that orientation. Rough, long weekend of alcohol and a resulting bad Monday, imho.

Find the spring steel trem mount location so different other than string tension what would change & could string tension be the same on each example ?

Ok...I see what you are saying. The one on the left may have a left handed neck because of the reveresed TRC
