• Guys, we've spent considerable money converting the Les Paul Forum to this new XenForo platform, and we have ongoing monthly operating expenses. THE "DONATIONS" TAB IS NOW WORKING, AND WE WOULD APPRECIATE ANY DONATIONS YOU CAN MAKE TO KEEP THE LES PAUL FORUM GOING! Thank you!

What are these speakers? They are amazing

Loaded in 72 twin. 4 screws hold them in. No markings stamps etc. Sound is amazing only clue is silver dust cap. Pic makes them look concave but they arent.

Man any help much appreciated. I typically find silver face twins too trebley I literally bought this guitar after playing for 10 minutes at GC. Blew me away

Thought they were roland JC speakers cuz of the silver caps but those dont have the screw in the middle.

Any numbers on the frames? That’ll tell me who made them. Thanks

They are McKenzie "Forte" speakers. Bygone Tones told me on another forum. Used in 70s Marshall gear, prior to Celestions being used. From my research, these are sometimes criticized as being "spikey" or too "trebly". That has not been my experience in my 72 Twin. They sound gooey and great! Woody and chimy... very happy.
