Is the body too thin on a firebird or can a shorter Floyd trem block be used?

Ohhh.. its OK. Its a cheap epi. Funny, just got off the phone with Ron Jones about
doing the install and the length of the trem block and he is sayin. Man, thats a lot of
wood removal on the back. He has not done an install since the 80`s.:hee But most if not all
guitars with a Floyd trem have a slim neck/fast. Not for me ,but I`m hired to play a certain style
and need the access of a explorer/firebird type guitar. The Amato access I have... I play with that group.
