How should I order my speaker cable?

There is a company that has made me guitar cables in the past, and they do great work. I want to ask them to make some speaker cables for me that I'll use with a 20 watt amp head going into a 2/12 speaker cab). What kind and gauge of cable, and 1/4" connectors should I ask them to use? I want good quality that will last years.
