    Cream-era Clapton with a Strat

I don't know what to think of this pic, let alone where to put it. So, I guess I'll put it here.

Permed, Disraeli Gears era Clapton playing what looks like a '58 or later Strat. I've never seen Jack Bruce with that Fiesta Red Jazz Bass either. All of this would lead me to believe that they were playing on borrowed gear, BUT, their backline is there, Ginger's drums are there, and you can see The Fool SG leaning against the amp in the bottom right corner.

Either way, a crazy pic that I haven't seen, regardless.

I haven't seen porn this dirty in a while... I would do shameful things for good quality audio from this gig...

I'm really curious as to what song they were playing in that photo. Other than the Strat, the most interesting—and most nerve-wracking—thing is that the Fool SG is leaning against the amp. No stand! With those Marshalls cranked as they were, I'd be waiting for those vibrating cabinets to topple the guitar to the stage.

And the strat has a Tele neck. There are some other photos . . .

Content in this one seems to have disappeared, unfortunately, had some b&ws.

The color one above in this thread is nice!

From many of the bio's I've read they would jam together at Manfred Mann / Alexis Corner and other gigs prior to forming Cream, so maybe this is one of those nights ?
Any facts stated above questionable, and opinions are not necessarily to be taken seriously

No, this photo is from mid '67, well within the Cream Era. The Fool SG was not acquired and painted until March of '67, right before Cream played the Murray The K gigs in New York. In fact, the paint was still wet when they played those shows.

Does anyone have the picture from the original post?

    Thanks!
