On its way to finding a new owner. Great photos and demo video by Duke Levine at TME.

I like those early 2-tone sunburst strats. Unfortunately I cannot distinguish between real and fakes, er, replicas.

Me neither, so I sent it to George Gruhn when I was buying it to confirm its authenticity. Still have his appraisal.

Was my first vintage purchase about 20 years ago and lots of noise on fake Strats, particularly custom colors was swirling about.

I could listen to Duke all day long. He's such a great player.

Do you know if this guitar was in the Chicago area around the late 90's or maybe as recent as the early nulls? It's probably nothing, but I got a weird sense of deja vu when I looked at the horn and contour.

Nope, it's been in Tampa Bay since early 1998 and before that was in NYS.

Pretty classic looking 1957 or late 1956 look to me, so maybe it has a twin.

Does it have a one piece body? Is it ash or alder?

Edit: must be alder by that date.

Not sure on body construction, looks like one as seem is not visible.

Always thought it was alder, but grain has an ash look.

TME takes such great high resolution photos that highlight the details...

Do not see a clear seam on back, maybe at the G string?
