• Guys, we've spent considerable money converting the Les Paul Forum to this new XenForo platform, and we have ongoing monthly operating expenses. THE "DONATIONS" TAB IS NOW WORKING, AND WE WOULD APPRECIATE ANY DONATIONS YOU CAN MAKE TO KEEP THE LES PAUL FORUM GOING! Thank you!

It was requested we have a thread on these suckers. Unlike the more pedestrian historic models these feature the letters C M & E (Chicago Music Exchange) at the beginning of the serial number. So don't be jealous, haters. All joking aside, like G0/R0's etc they are a dealer specific line of reissue guitars but I don't know the specifics of model changes/options year to year so feel free to chime in with details.

I'll start the party with my own that hath been dubbed " 'lil flame " which I posted a while back post nashville/chicago/nashville road trip and boy was it worth the drive:

2019 CME 90027

27, of course, for those who don't know Blackhawk legend Jeremy Roenick donned this number. An absolute beast of a dying breed of power forwards whose willingness to battle, crash through the paint, bang heads, drop the gloves and throw the highlight reel open ice hits was only out shined by his stick handling prowess as he broke ankles his way putting the puck in the net.

Literally one of the best guitars I’ve ever played. My recently purchased CME90055

Here are mine. Not technically R9s, but basically R9 specs with less flame. I need to get some pics of them in the sun, this one doesn't really do them justice.

CME 90055 was on my short list, but CME 90010 aka “Tombstone” called to me in the end

Why not do one for the Guitar Center special run GO's?

So, what, besides serial number format, makes them "technically not" R9?

did you play 90055 in person?

No, I haven’t made it to Chicago yet unfortunately. My decisions have been based solely on screen staring and conversations with David A. when I finally narrow to down to a couple choices.

Some may be. My two were from a run in 2017 and were listed as "Gibson Custom Shop Les Paul Standard Plain Top VOS" with "CME 7XXXXX" serial numbers, but all the specs including the neck carve were the same as an R9 of the same year. I think the pickups were Custom Buckers wound to CME's specs. I have a few other historics and these are probably my favorites.
