• Guys, we've spent considerable money converting the Les Paul Forum to this new XenForo platform, and we have ongoing monthly operating expenses. THE "DONATIONS" TAB IS NOW WORKING, AND WE WOULD APPRECIATE ANY DONATIONS YOU CAN MAKE TO KEEP THE LES PAUL FORUM GOING! Thank you!

Decided to refret the Les Paul with stainless steel jumbo frets (Jescar 55090 medium jumbo) - great for ‘digging in’ to the notes and will last a lot longer than the standard nickel frets. Should keep me occupied for the next few days or so...

Big fan of SS frets, good choice!

Maybe throw up some pics when you're done?

It’s going well so far. Tried a different method glueing the frets in on this guitar. Instead of putting the glue into the slots, I have installed the frets dry and then wicked the glue in along the sides of each fret. I ran out of fretwire (Doh!) so am two frets short at the moment. If the new fretwire arrives tomorrow then I should be playing her by the evening. All going well, she’ll be gigged this weekend.
