• Guys, we've spent considerable money converting the Les Paul Forum to this new XenForo platform, and we have ongoing monthly operating expenses. THE "DONATIONS" TAB IS NOW WORKING, AND WE WOULD APPRECIATE ANY DONATIONS YOU CAN MAKE TO KEEP THE LES PAUL FORUM GOING! Thank you!

Al, Yes it works exactly the same way as it would on a Plexi or a Bassman, the input jacks are wired the same way on all of them, when they are jumpered you can use the two volume controls to blend the channels. It's a long time since I have tried it and I don't have a 5e3 here to try it on at the moment but from what I can remember it is quite subtle as there is not a great deal of difference between the two channels (the bright channel is only brighter at low volume settings, at higher volumes the channels are virtually identical).

There is some information on it here https://robrobinette.com/How_Fender_Input_Jacks_Work.htm About half way down the page there is a section on jumpering with some information on what the effects are.

Thank you for that info. Fustrating not being able to just go down to the Tone Temple ad just plug up and see for myself but no can do for at least 10 weeks or so.

It does explain why I've never seen anyone link them. So it seems that to the op's question it would be fair to say that no, the inputs are not linked but the controls are interactive. I certainly can recommend using the amp with that way. It is amazing how many tones can be found within such an apparently simple amp!

That was a great read on the Deluxe.

"Bright - Hi input used with 6" patch cable between Bright - Lo and Normal - Hi. Photo by sookwinder.

A jumper can be plugged between the Normal and Bright Channels to achieve a tone somewhere between Normal and Bright. The parallel amplification through triode V1A and V1B also adds "fullness" and "complexity" to the amp's tone.

Note that with all patch setups the channel the guitar is plugged into will be the dominant channel. By selecting the correct patch you can control the amount of dominance.

Even when using a patch cable the guitar will 'see' only one combined input impedance."

Married and divorced her.

She quit drinking.

And ran out of Viagra.

Never knew her as such but knew of her.
She came around to my buddies house when he was a younger teenager........never been the same since.........and I can attest to that!!
