I don't have a Gibson guitar yet. I have a Stat, and now a D'angeligo, and Gretsch, and Martin, so I'm looking at these as I dig the old look/ vibe of them.... anyone buy or know them at all, any recommendations between the three: (sorry, two links will say SG, but really this is all based on Les Paul '61)

https://www.guitarcenter.com/Gibson/SG-Standard-61-Sideways-Vibrola-Electric-Guitar.gc

https://www.guitarcenter.com/Gibson/SG-Standard-61-Maestro-Vibrola-Electric-Guitar.gc

and this pops up used a bit:

http://espanol.gibson.com/Products/Electric-Guitars/SG/Gibson-USA/1961-Les-Paul-Tribute.aspx

I think they are all a bit overpriced. I actually found on my few test playing them in guitar center the sideways more fluid than the normal maestro, though the maestro looks cooler- the plate.

Any difference on quality or anything else one should know on three choices?

Thanks Chincy, well the LEs Paul does have it.

For SG, you mean write it in yourself? How would one do that, and would it devalue it?

Kind of odd Gibson would call these SG when in 61 it was a Les Paul. You agree overpriced? Why do they do that?

What the hell you talking about and please tell me about these "many people" and how you know what they want??

No Les Paul I'm aware of had the vibrola wammy, only SG's.

No SG/Les Paul had LES PAUL on the headstock. They had it on the truss rod cover. If "many people" really just have to have a Les Paul engraved truss rod cover you can have it done at any trophy shop for $5. If that's too complicated you can buy repro's cheap enough. That's what "many people" tell me.

I'd say the price on either SG is reasonable for what they are, and I'm willing to bet "many people" agree.:bigal
