• Guys, we've spent considerable money converting the Les Paul Forum to this new XenForo platform, and we have ongoing monthly operating expenses. THE "DONATIONS" TAB IS NOW WORKING, AND WE WOULD APPRECIATE ANY DONATIONS YOU CAN MAKE TO KEEP THE LES PAUL FORUM GOING! Thank you!

Should I be worried about this?

Hi everyone.

2016 Traditional. Got off the the plane the other day and checked the guitar over and found this small crack under the nut. Looks like it starts at the nut and runs along between the binding and neck and then across the neck a little bit. It is only on this side as the other side is perfectly fine. I'm not 100% sure if its just the finish cracking or if its cracked the wood. Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Take it to a skilled luthier/repairman [or two :ganz] and get his opinions. :)

Looks like lacquer finish crack to me, nothing deep there. Had a '97 Studio same thing but deeper that went along the binding of the fret board (temp change?) No wood damage at all so yours looks safe.:peace2
Can't sleep? :hmm Like mentioned above.:dude:
