NGD 2018 Historic 1957 Les Paul Custom

Here's a cool piece I just had to have:

Is there a LP lover, even dyed-in-the-wool Burst mavens, whose heart doesn't pound at the sight of all that black and gold glory? Plus, this one had the aged treatment (including the case, which I love). The main reason I'm posting is to point out that these recent Historic LPCs really get a LOT of details right, in comparison with earlier iterations. I love the binding, the shape of the cutaway, pretty much the whole package. It ain't light at 9.5lbs, but these are hard hard to find much lighter, particularly with 3 PUs. At least there's no Bigsby piling it on.

I had an original '58 for many years, and this one doesn't sound like that, but at a fraction of the price, it satisfies my occasional Custom craving just fine. Also, the middle PU doesn't seem to get in the way like I remembered--go figure. I immediately flipped it to give me some versatility without rewiring (huge plus), but I'd really like to wire it with the middle and bridge in tandem in the middle switch position (instead of the factory middle/neck)--I just have a feeling that would sound really cool.

I picked up a 1977 Custom. It was 14 pounds. Your guitar is light and gorgeous.
