That's shocking for $1000000.00!! This guitar has had many repairs since he owned it along with it not having his rewound pups.
i think its a million dollar guitar. however if it doesnt have the same pickups as when duane owned it that would cause me to never feel right about owning it. mojo lost
I thought the story was that it hasn't had the same pickups as when Duane owned it since the day Duane sold it. Those are now in the Fillmore cherryburst.
I don't think it has the cherry bursts original PU's in it. I'm sure there are those who know for sure. Somewhere along the line I read they had been removed and that there are Byrdland PAF's in it. If that's incorrect someone please say so
Im going to assume the pickups were never changed by Joey Marshall after he got the Cherry from Donna (Duane’s ex) to the time Galadrielle inherited from him. He sadly passed years ago.
Pretty crazy times!
A CBS partscaster, butchered, refinished and renecked twice, sells for $3.9mm.
A husk of a 1957 GT, chewed headstock, refinished twice (at least), non-original pick ups, not sure about rest of parts, is sold for $1.25mm.
