• Guys, we've spent considerable money converting the Les Paul Forum to this new XenForo platform, and we have ongoing monthly operating expenses. THE "DONATIONS" TAB IS NOW WORKING, AND WE WOULD APPRECIATE ANY DONATIONS YOU CAN MAKE TO KEEP THE LES PAUL FORUM GOING! Thank you!

Dr. John has gone on . . .

By the way, does anybody know what was in the little bag that Dr.John gave Muddy Waters when he came on stage in that video. I know some of you know what I'm talking about. I think it was special herbs for a great gumbo.

He was always an original.

I remember seeing him at "The Warehouse" in New Orleans during Mardi Gras. His entire band wore togas. And this was YEARS before the "Animal House" movie.

He was always a great ambassador for the New Orleans culture.

I never met him, but we had some mutual friends. There are stories that he had some fingers broken for not joining the Musicians Union back in the day.

Saw him with Cyndi Lauper and Charlie Musselwhite. Great show.

He originally played guitar but after a gunshot nearly blew off his finger, played bass, then took up the piano. He was one of the "wrecking crew".

RIP
