• Guys, we've spent considerable money converting the Les Paul Forum to this new XenForo platform, and we have ongoing monthly operating expenses. THE "DONATIONS" TAB IS NOW WORKING, AND WE WOULD APPRECIATE ANY DONATIONS YOU CAN MAKE TO KEEP THE LES PAUL FORUM GOING! Thank you!

Would it be possible to switch the phase of one of the pickups in a modern Les Paul with the PCB boards?

I have a '18 Tribute with 490's, and i'm cursing Gibson for putting a PCB in this thing. I don't excpect to be able to do the physical magnet turning method, as the pickups are potted.

Thanks!

You can flip the magnet in potted pickups. The wax is soft and gives easily. Otherwise, if the pickups have 3 or 4 conductors, you can unplug them from the PCB and possibly swap the contacts around in the connector.
