• Guys, we've spent considerable money converting the Les Paul Forum to this new XenForo platform, and we have ongoing monthly operating expenses. THE "DONATIONS" TAB IS NOW WORKING, AND WE WOULD APPRECIATE ANY DONATIONS YOU CAN MAKE TO KEEP THE LES PAUL FORUM GOING! Thank you!

Long story, but a friend of a family member says this has been sitting in a Florida garage for a long time.

Is this a 1968 LP Custom Reissue?

serial # LE897302

Neck pickup is obviously not factory original and was hacked in there, but it is a Pat No pickup. Original clear bobbin Gibson P90.

Do you have a photo of the serial number and the electronics cavity?

I see several oddities.

Its a 1972/1973 54 Custom reissue, with allmahogany body, P90 and staple alnico pickup, non voluted neck and some specs trying to get closer to 50s originals in comparison to regular LP Customs of that era (70-74). Kind of Norlin´s first attempt of reissue. These are great guitars, sometimes a bit heavier than 50s originals, but still very close tonewise... This one is obviously rerouted in neck position for humbucker.
