Is there a way to tell the if my pickups are Gibson 57 classics or Gibson 498T/490R pickups?
Normally the Custom comes with 498T/490R but the seller thought they might have been replace to 57 classics - & they look exactly the same to me

Are you looking at the back of the pickups? '57 Classic will have PAF decals.

Thanks!
I just checked the bridge pickup & it only has the Gibson USA logo. I have a spare set of 57 Classic + / 57 classics & they have both PAF stickers & model designation stickers saying 57C & 57C+
Did the 57 classics always come with PAF stickers?

I guess it means the custom does have the stock 498t/490r’s then? I like the sound of the guitar a lot but it’s good to know for sure.

The one closer to the fingerboard is the 'neck pickup'.

The other one is the 'bridge pickup'.
