• Guys, we've spent considerable money converting the Les Paul Forum to this new XenForo platform, and we have ongoing monthly operating expenses. THE "DONATIONS" TAB IS NOW WORKING, AND WE WOULD APPRECIATE ANY DONATIONS YOU CAN MAKE TO KEEP THE LES PAUL FORUM GOING! Thank you!

Hi, coming over from the dark side (Stratocasters) and bought my first Gibson. It’s the 2014 Anniversary Les Paul Traditional. It’s all stock except the previous owner added a B5 Bigsby. I’m fast becoming a Les Paul fanboy. These pickups are now my favs.

Quick question. Are these necks modeled after the ‘59 or ‘58 models? Thanks!

I have a 2013 Traditional +...there were 2 neck options: 50s and 60s.
I have the 50s neck...not as thick as the ‘baseball ball’ profile of the 50s necks of the earlier histories.
Neck thickness:
0.97” at 12th fret
0.85” at 1st fret
Thickness is neck+fret board.

1.68” nut with

Nut is the same
1st fret is the same
12th fret is the same

So it’s a 50s neck like yours but can it be narrowed down to a ‘58 or ‘59? I suspect ‘59.
